The Department of Home Science at Gangasheel Mahavidyalaya, Faizullapur, Nawabganj, Bareilly has been committed to providing quality education since the establishment of the college in 2015.

To provide advanced learning opportunities and prepare students for professional and academic careers, the department introduced theB.Sc. Home Science course in 2016 and M.A. in Home Science programme in 2019. Further strengthening postgraduate education, the M.Sc. in Home Science programme was launched in 2021. These programmes are designed to equip students with in-depth subject knowledge, research aptitude, leadership qualities, and professional skills, enabling them to become competent Home Science professionals, educators, researchers, entrepreneurs, and responsible contributors to society.

The department offers a comprehensive curriculum covering the major disciplines of Home Science, including Food and Nutrition, Human Development and Family Studies, Clothing and Textiles, Resource Management, Extension Education, and Home Science Education. Through laboratory work, field visits, internships, extension activities, and research projects, students develop professional competencies and life skills required for employment, higher education, and self-employment.The department strives to nurture socially responsible, skilled, and innovative graduates who contribute to sustainable development, family well-being, and community welfare.
