Mathematics

Mathematics has been established as a language of science. We are continuously empowering the students to understand and explain the concepts of science since we started in 2015 at the esteemed institution Gangasheel Mahavidyalaya. The students can study undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses like B.Sc. and M.Sc. of durations of 3 and 2 years, respectively.

We have a very clear vision and are committed to engaging our students in learning basic mathematics from a predefined syllabus based on the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and then introduce new, challenging real problems to deepen their knowledge and understanding. The department faculty always has interest in learning new things through different online and offline events.

The Department of Mathematics engages in arranging online/offline lectures of experts with the aim to provide opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate students. We provide different tasks for students to solve and improve logical thinking in addition to finishing their syllabus. We encourage students to actively participate in different scientific and social events in order to develop not only their subject knowledge but also social skills too.

Machine learning is based on the manipulation of data and majorly depends on mathematics. So by writing different algorithms, equations, and models, students may establish themselves as data scientists, which is a very new and demanding field of jobs. Moreover, after completion of M.Sc. students can prepare for the CSIR-NET, GATE, BARC, etc., examinations that will help them to establish themselves as an assistant professor or do an M.Tech. or become a scientist. In addition to that, just obtaining a B.Ed. degree, students may become postgraduate teachers at state and central government jobs levels. Students may prepare for central and state government jobs like IAS, IPS, PCS, SSC-CGL, etc.

Department’s Mission
